[LogBook] Snorkeling in Silfra – Iceland
Ahoy Sailors & Mermaids! Today, I will tell you about something very special… So grab a hot cup of tea because I’m taking you… On a snorkeling tour in the Silfra fissure, in Iceland!
I discovered Silfra as I was reading my favourite french scuba diving magazine, Plongez. The picture of a turquoise blue water in the fissure, and the words « clearest water on earth » immediately convinced me to book this adventure while planning my trip to Iceland.
So what exactly is Silfra? It’s actually a crack located in the Þingvellir National Park, between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Water reaches 4° during summer and is extremely pure; you can even drink it while snorkeling if you feel thirsty! Ready? Let’s do this!

Oh, a video!
I booked this tour with the company Arctic Adventures, but there are other companies you can choose of course! The snorkeling gear and a dry suit is provided, as well as a hot drink at the end of the tour (trust me everyone need one)! For those who have the drysuit certification, you also have the option to dive in Silfra! How cool is that??
This is the end of this logbook in Iceland! If you liked it please feel free to let me know in a comment! Sea you soon for more bubbles!
